Welcome to the Cura Website

Cura developed its philosophy from years of experience working therapeutically in education, mental health and with providers of residential care for young people. We formulated a model of care that specialises in identifying areas of concern in young people, emotional, physical and psychological that disturbs, interrupts and undermines placement stability. This could be within residential homes, fostering or families of origin. We also identify those areas and core issues that prevent self esteem and potential. This is short term, focussed work.

We build pathways based on the young person’s needs and in consultation with them for their goals.

We provide agreed short term residential periods in a safe environment that offers stability and atmosphere of trust, this is essential to support the intensive work that takes place. The central purpose is to deal effectively with the deep rooted elements that prevent the young person’s success and achievement.

We also work with all those involved with the young person, giving support and dynamic assistance, help and advice to the key relationships in the young person’s world. It is progressive, developmental and dynamic work that gives each young person a pathway to goals that they have helped to set.

Cura reflects a set of values ethics and principles that resides in all who work within the organisation. These strengths are positively role modelled for our young people giving them permission to grow and thrive in their development in an atmosphere of acceptance and value.
